Day by day itinerary

Land in Bangkok and check into a city hotel. Meet your twenty over a welcome dinner — opened with host-led games and banter that sort the room out fast — before the group heads out into the neon for one big Bangkok night for those who want it. A briefing on the week ahead: in six days you'll leave a certified diver who's been in a Muay Thai ring.

Fly to Koh Samui and ferry across to Koh Tao — the tiny island that issues more diving certifications than almost anywhere on earth. Check in on Sairee Beach. Afternoon kicks off the PADI Open Water course: theory, then your first confined-water skills in the shallows — mask clearing, regulator recovery, buoyancy. Day 1 of certification.
ferry to Koh Tao · PADI Day 1
The day it gets real. Your first open-water descents to around 12 metres — the silence, the coral, the slightly stunned realisation that you're breathing underwater. Day 2 of certification. Evening on the beach with a group that just did something a little scary together — Sairee's bars are right there for whoever's up for it.
open-water dives · PADI Day 2
Your final certification dives — and just like that, you're a PADI Open Water Diver, with the card to prove it for life. Afternoon celebratory fun-dive at a pinnacle or the HTMS Sattakut wreck. Tonight, the certification dinner: everyone holding up the same card, wearing the same stunned grin.

Morning ferry back to Koh Samui and a complete change of gear. Check into the Muay Thai base, wrap your hands for the first time, and meet your trainer. An afternoon of stance, strikes, and the clinch — bodies that were horizontal underwater two days ago are now throwing knees. The whiplash is exactly the point.
ferry to Samui · Muay Thai Day 1
Morning technical session and conditioning — sore, sharp, ready. Then the finale: supervised technical sparring bouts in full gear, followed by ringside seats at a real Samui stadium card to watch the pros do it properly. The farewell dinner after closes with the Voya Trip Awards — the host hands out the trip's honours (Most Improved Fighter, Best Diver, Hardest to Knock Down, MVP of the Week) voted by the group.

A last swim and a recovery breakfast, then departure from Koh Samui. You came for an excuse. You're leaving certified, bruised, and already arguing about where the next one is.
